AN EYE FOR AN ‘I’ • Sharp eyed readers will spot a tiny badge with a letter ‘i’ in the centre of the grille on this Fiat 684T. This has a special significance in 2025 as it is 50 years IVECO was formed. At first the acronym, which stands for ‘Industrial Vehicle Corporation’, was quite low-key but, by the mid-1980s, it had become a make in its own right. This 1979 registered outfit of H B & H is a reminder of the early days. H B & H Group (Hutchinson, Barton & Hutchinson) of Newton-le-Willows was part of Johnson Wild.
